Baby’s First Year
I’d love to capture your baby’s first year for you! It’s so much fun watching them grow…and it happens so quickly.

Newborn sessions may be scheduled as part of The Baby Plan or as an individual session. Please review The Baby Plan tab and the Session Information tab to determine which you prefer. If you have questions, call or email and I can help!
When should we contact you to schedule the session?
It’s best to reserve your session by the start of the third trimester. I try my best to accommodate newborn sessions, but scheduling in advance will guarantee my availability. I will record your due date to hold your spot on my calendar. Then once the baby arrives we can set the actual appointment date and time.
How old should the baby be when photographed?
Newborns are best photographed within the first two weeks they are born. It’s important to capture the baby early when they still sleep soundly. This ensures they can be easily moved into new poses without waking, and curl up in the positions you see throughout my newborn portfolio. When awake, the babies are often restless (with hands uncontrollably covering or scratching their faces), and newborns are known for crossing their eyes.
What should we bring to your studio?
I provide everything we need for photographing the session, but you are welcome to bring things with you (hats, blankets, anything with special meaning) that you want to include.
What should we expect at the session?
Most newborn sessions take place over a 2-3 hour period. I know that may sound like a long time, but it ultimately depends on the baby. We may need to stop to calm a fussy baby, get the baby back to sleep, or you may need to feed the baby during the session time. I have all the patience in the world, and even some tips and tricks to help the baby relax and stay asleep.

Yes. You may schedule a session at the studio, or I will come to any outdoor location you choose. Visits to the studio are by appointment only. Families are photographed outdoors.
What if I don’t know what location to choose for the session?
Don’t worry about that part at all! I have plenty of suggestions. We can talk before the session to get an idea of the style you would like for your portraits.
How do I prepare for the session?
Once you reserve your session, you will be given access to the Client Information Site. There you will find more information about what to wear, how to have a successful session, and more! Of course, if you have any specific questions at any time, just let me know!
What if we are looking for formal portraits?
I encourage you to take a look at my portfolio images and blog before scheduling a session. You will see that I maintain a casual style. My goal is to capture natural expressions, not forced smiles.
